Why buy books?

Because it is the best way to support literature. Because collecting books give a sense of pride few other hobbies give. Because family libraries are built over generations, not days. Because our children grow up seeing things around them, playing with them. Because what we adore, and treasure for all our life, defines us.

  1. I still support borrowing books vs buying. The supposed limitations of using using a library (not getting the books you want when you want them, having to make do with random other books) are also the incentives to try out new authors and reach beyond your comfort zone of reading.
Plus, buying books kills the environment! =)

  2. well, I heartily disagree :). About the environment, though - buy books printed on recycled paper.
